Dhanuka Agritech Launches Fujita, an Isoprothiolane Fungicide for Rice Blast
Rice blast can strip a paddy field of its yield in weeks — and neck blast, which strikes at the panicle, often shows up when it is already too late to save the grain.
Dhanuka Agritech has launched Fujita for the Indian market, a systemic fungicide containing isoprothiolane 40% EC for the control of rice blast, including leaf, nodal and neck blast. Dhanuka says it provides both preventive and curative action, moving systemically through the plant's roots and leaves, and works by inhibiting fungal phospholipid biosynthesis.
Fujita was launched alongside Wetcit Neo, an adjuvant. Both products are for the domestic Indian market, the company said in disclosures to the National Stock Exchange and BSE.
What it means for the trade
Isoprothiolane is a long-established rice fungicide; branded launches like this keep demand for the technical grade steady through the kharif and rabi seasons. Formulators and distributors should plan stocks around the blast-prone months.
