Indo Rama Synthetics to Invest ₹200 Crore in Specialty Fibre and Filament at Butibori, Nagpur

Indo Rama Synthetics (India) Ltd has approved a ₹200 crore capital expenditure plan to expand capacity for high-value specialty filament and specialty fibre at its main manufacturing facility in Butibori, Nagpur, Maharashtra.

The project will be carried out by the company together with its wholly owned material subsidiary, Indorama Ventures Yarns Private Limited (IVYPL), and funded through term loans and internal accruals. Commercial operations are expected within 12 to 18 months. Capacity figures were not disclosed.

The move is meant to "deepen its presence in high-margin value-added textile segments" while "reducing vulnerability to volatile commodity polyester pricing cycles".

What it means for buyers and suppliers

More specialty polyester capacity in central India means more demand for spin-finish oils, masterbatches, dyes and textile auxiliaries — a lead for chemical suppliers selling into the polyester chain. Weavers and knitters looking for specialty yarns may get a closer domestic source from 2027–28.
