Kanoria Chemicals Commissions a 12 TPD Triacetin Plant at Ankleshwar
Kanoria Chemicals & Industries (KCI) has commissioned a new triacetin plant of 12 tonnes per day at its existing site in GIDC, Ankleshwar, Gujarat.
The unit was launched in the presence of Saumya Vardhan Kanoria, Whole Time Director, and Sanjay Ojha, Chief of Manufacturing & Projects – Chemical Business.
"The launch of the Triacetin facility brings a new addition to KCI's specialty chemicals portfolio and enhances our capabilities in value-added products. This new facility will enable us to serve the growing requirements of customers across domestic and international markets," Ojha said.
Triacetin is used in food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, resins, coatings, plastics and adhesives. KCI makes chemicals at Ankleshwar in Gujarat and at Visakhapatnam and Naidupeta in Andhra Pradesh; its range covers alcohol-based intermediates, phenolic resins and specialty chemicals.
What it means for buyers and suppliers
Buyers of triacetin — for flavours, pharma coatings, plasticisers or adhesives — get another Indian source in the Ankleshwar belt. It is worth asking for the grades on offer (food, pharma or technical) and the certificates that go with each before switching.
