Paradeep Phosphates Signs MoU for ₹4,750 Crore Investment in Odisha

Paradeep Phosphates Ltd (PPL) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Odisha for an investment of ₹4,750 crore in the state over the coming years.

The plan covers a new chemical plant, a bio-fertiliser manufacturing facility and initiatives to improve farm productivity. The MoU was signed on the sidelines of India Chem 2026 in Mumbai, in the presence of Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, by Hemant Kumar Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary (Industries), and N. Suresh Krishnan, Managing Director and CEO of PPL.

The report gives no capacities, site or timeline, and says the project is expected to create direct and indirect employment across the value chain.

What it means for buyers and suppliers

An MoU is a statement of intent, not a final investment decision. If it goes ahead, Odisha gains more fertiliser and chemical capacity near Paradip port — relevant for suppliers of sulphur, sulphuric acid, phosphoric acid and ammonia, and for buyers of fertiliser-linked chemicals in eastern India.
